About Giyaent
We are a research infrastructure and education company focused on African knowledge systems. The goal is to modernise how the continent's scholarship, cultural material, and institutional archives are structured and accessed in an AI-driven world. The work is not about building another repository but creating the underlying data models, interfaces, and tooling that make African knowledge navigable, searchable, and machine-readable at scale.
Africa's intellectual landscape is broad, deep, and fragmented. Most of it sits in formats that are difficult to index, reference, or integrate into modern research workflows. We address this by building clean information architecture, stable research tools, and AI-ready knowledge structures designed specifically for African contexts. We aim to create the foundational layer that allows researchers, institutions, and future AI systems to work with African knowledge without friction.
Pre-Colonial Trade Networks
Mapping fragmented records into a unified timeline of routes, goods, and regional links.
West African Oral Histories
Transforming oral narratives into searchable, structured knowledge strands.
Pan-African Art and Material Culture
Digitising artworks and artefacts and linking them to themes, periods, and regional movements.
3D Landscapes of Historical Cities
Rebuilding archival maps into interactive 3D environments for deeper spatial analysis.
Climate Resilience in Sub-Saharan Systems
Integrating dispersed datasets into a single comparative evidence base.
Urbanisation Trends in Lagos and Kinshasa
Consolidating demographic flows into a coherent urban-growth model.
Digital Health Records and Patient History
Structuring clinical archives into a stable, accessible research layer.
